I Graduated from school N11 with several subjects taught in English. Completed degree in Mathematics at Kuibyshev State University. Worked as the teacher of Mathematics, programmer, teacher of Informatics. In 1994/95 studied Library and Information Science at Simmons college, Boston, USA.I was happy to get 3-months internship at the Media Center of Gutman library (Graduate School of Education, Harvard University). It was possible due to the grant of Freedom Support Act program (IREX foundation).
I am grateful to all wonderful teachers of school N11, who have influenced my life. They are: Marycheva A.N., Kozyreva N.V., Komarova V.P., Schekotikhin M.I., Belchikova E.P. and others.
Special word about my beloved teacher. (She taught us only for 4 months, but inspired me to become an educator, and continues to encourage me during all the life).

Nowdays I moderate the following mailing lists (in Russian):
- for grantkeepres of Samara Internet Center
- "SamNetDa!" - "Samara Internet News for Schools"
- "News for Libraries" (mainly from the Open Society Institute).
Recently I started the recommendation pages (in Russian):
- "Internet for Libraries"
- "Web-resources on Local History"

If you'd like to see the places, where I live and which I love, loook at the hypermediabook "O, Volga, Cradle Mine!", which is created by the schoolchildren on my idea. The nice photo, which was taken by my son on the Molodecky kurgan above the Volga river, became the symbol of the project.

As the lover of the "author's songs", I have being visiting Grushin Festival since 1976.
My beloved author is Olga Kachanova (from Alma-Ata). In 1998 she released CD "Red Bird" (in Russian).
Let me intoduce you to the song of mine, which was inspired by the one, written by Olga. The part of this song "The Walk through the City of my Childhood" was translated in English for the Boston Women's Voice Festival - 95, in which I was happy to take part.

THE WALK THROUGH THE CITY OF MY CHILDHOOD
Dedicated to my Samara city on the Volga river

Next to Philarmonic hall was my childhood settled,
it seems to be so close, but impossible to reach!..
Walking through the past here can not be avoided,
though so much water has flown under the bridge...

Streets speed to fall into the Volga river,
sunset in August beautifies them all.
After it flamed, the stars above embankment
remain to shine -  the years haven't flown at all!

The impressive illustrations to this song you may find on the site with pictures drawn by our well-known architect Kakakrian V.

ROZALIYA IOSIFOVNA SONIS -
GENUINE pedagogue
I would like everybody to feel this happiness - to meet such person.
Teacher, being awarded as "Methodist", superior mathematician.
She not only taught, but brought up hundreds of pupils.
40 YEARS she is in teaching.
Her classes always mean serious work,
they mean mutual understanding,
they mean joy of intercourse.
I wish you, my dear Roza Iosifovna, good health and unlimited joy from your students!

I dedicated several poems and songs to her (the last one see on the Russian page).
